The 3000 FC sends its readings to a phone, which changes where you can stand while taking them. On energised switchgear that is a genuine safety argument rather than a convenience: the meter stays connected inside the panel while the person reading it is outside the arc flash boundary. It also allows several measurement points to be watched at once by one engineer.
