The 1577 puts a true-RMS multimeter and an insulation tester in the same body. The practical gain is sequence: prove the circuit is dead with the meter, then test its insulation, without swapping instruments or leads halfway through. For electricians doing installation testing alongside general electrical work, it removes a genuine nuisance from the routine.
