The 1630-2 FC measures earth loop resistance with a clamp alone, which means the earth stays connected throughout. Disconnecting an earth to test it is both a safety risk and, on a live installation, frequently not permitted at all. Wireless logging lets the readings be collected as you work through a site rather than written down and typed up later.
