The 1507 adds selectable test voltages and timed tests, including the polarisation index, which is where insulation testing moves from pass-or-fail to diagnostic. A ratio taken over time tells you whether a motor winding is deteriorating long before it fails outright, which is the information a maintenance programme is actually built on. Specify it where the results feed a trend rather than a certificate.
