Mitutoyo 543-700B ID-C Digimatic indicator, 0-12.7 mm, with peak hold and SPC. A digital indicator with an ABSOLUTE sensor, so it holds its origin between uses. Digital reading removes the parallax and the counting errors that a dial invites when the needle passes zero several times. Peak hold captures the maximum or minimum through a sweep, which is exactly what a runout check needs. SPC output sends each reading straight to a data collector or a PC, which is what turns an inspection into a record without anybody transcribing numbers.
