Mitutoyo 293-240-30 QuantuMike Digimatic micrometer, 0-25 mm, 2 mm per thimble revolution. A digital micrometer reading to a micron, with the ratchet or friction thimble that makes the measuring force repeatable between operators. Consistent force is most of what separates a good micrometer reading from a bad one. The QuantuMike spindle advances 2 mm per thimble turn instead of the usual 0.5 mm, so it closes on the work in a quarter of the turns. Over a production inspection run that is a real saving.
